How SEO Updates More Than Doubled A Realtor's Website Traffic In 30 Days

CHALLENGE

One of Phelps Digital's real estate agencies was having problems with their website. It was only getting about 2 visits per day and not sending any leads. After an initial audit, the Phelps team concluded there were a variety of things contributing to the issues. First, there had been almost no SEO work done on the site. It was lacking meta information, page content, alt text, internal links, and more. The audit also turned up a lack of development on the Google Business Profile. There was nothing helping the agency appear in search results to get in front of new home buyers and sellers.

SOLUTION

Phelps conducted research in Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and other online SEO tools to map out a keyword and content strategy. This guided the development of a website redesign, overhaul of meta data and creation of page content. Part of the plan was also to increase appearances in search results for terms like "realtor near me" which the agency had previously not been ranking for at all. Phelps applied many changes to the Google Business Profile such as added photos, updated target service areas, added more keywords to the About Us section and implemented a strategy to solicit reviews. Phelps created a calendar with sample content to be used on GBP as well as social platforms to help drive more traffic to the site and increase relevance of the brand.

RESULTS

After our clients optimizations were implemented we saw huge increases in performance in just 1 month. The site began ranking for important keywords like "realtor near me", "homes for sale" and "city, state real estate". The website saw a 122% increase in overall site visitors, with organic sessions increasing by 144% and GPB interactions up 53%. Not only was overall traffic up, so were leads. There was a 50% increase in phone calls from GBP and the website was getting leads when it never had before. The engagement on the site had improved 92% and bounce rate dropped over 30%.
